Effective from December 13, 2024, the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) aims to ensure the sale of safe products to buyers in the European Union (EU) and Northern Ireland (NI). This regulation applies to both new and second-hand products sold in these markets, and it introduces specific requirements for businesses regarding product safety information.
What you need to do:
To comply with the GPSR and related regulations, all business sellers listing items for sale in the EU and NI must include the following information:
The product manufacturer's name and contact information
If the manufacturer isn’t located in the EU or NI, you’ll have to indicate an EU-based Responsible Person or entity, along with their name and contact details
Any relevant product information like model number, pictures, and type
Product safety and compliance information like warnings and safety information (which can be included in labels and product manuals) in the local language
The CE marking when required by the related regulations applicable to your product

How to add GPSR information on eBaymag?
There are three methods you can use with eBaymag to add GPSR information to your listings:
Automatic Synchronization: This option allows eBaymag to effortlessly synchronize the GPSR information from your original listings with your international listings created via eBaymag.
Single Customization: This approach provides the flexibility to edit the GPSR information for individual listings directly on the Item Details page.
Bulk Customization With Templates: This method allows you to create GPSR templates and apply them in bulk to selected listings.
1.Automatic Synchronization
Navigate to “Account Settings” and locate the “eBay sync options” section. Make sure the “Update items quantities and content from the original item” toggle is enabled.
After activation, navigate to the “Items” page and choose “eBay to eBaymag”. Next, click on “Update items content” to allow eBaymag to synchronize all the GPSR information from your original listings to the international listings created through eBaymag. This step is only necessary the first time. Subsequently, any changes made to the original listing will automatically synchronize with the international listings.
Important Note:
Even if you have previously enabled the “Update items quantities and content from the original item” feature, you still need to follow the steps outlined above to allow eBaymag to update the GPSR information for the first time.
When you enable the “Update items quantities and content from the original item” feature, all changes made to the original listings including GPSR information, quantities, item title, description, price, and other item parameters will automatically synchronize with the international listings.
2.Single Customization
To edit the GPSR information for a specific item, go to the “Items” page and select the item to access the “Item Details” page. Scroll down to find the new “General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)” section, located just after the Shipping Policy section.
The GPSR fields are initially collapsed. To view all the fields, click on “Show details” to expand them.
In this section, you will find two toggles “Edit the GPSR information on international listings” and “Override the GPSR information on the original listing” that are disabled by default.
If these toggles are off and “Update item quantities and content from the original item” is enabled in Account Settings, eBaymag will automatically synchronize the GPSR information from the original listing.
To customize the GPSR information for this specific item, enable the “Edit the GPSR Information on International Listings” toggle. This action will halt the automatic synchronization, allowing you to customize and manage the GPSR information specifically for this item's international listings on eBaymag.
When “Edit the GPSR Information on International Listings” is enabled, you will have the option to turn on the “Override the GPSR information on the original listing” toggle. By enabling this, eBaymag will override your existing GPSR information on the original listing and manage the GPSR information for both the original and international listings.
Completing Your GPSR Information:
If the original listing includes GPSR information, it will appear on the “Item Details” page, where you can edit it. If it doesn't, simply follow the steps below to add the GPSR information.
Step 1: Switch on the “Edit GPSR Information on International Listings” toggle.
Step 2 (Optional): To override the GPSR information on the original listing, switch on the “Override GPSR Information on Original Listing” toggle.
Step 3: Provide the contact details for the Product Manufacturer or the EU Responsible Person.
Under Product Manufacturer, click “Edit” to update the information or “Add product manufacturer” to include new details.
Under EU Responsible Person, click “Edit” to modify the information or “Add EU responsible person” to include new information.
Step 4: Click “Edit” to modify the information or “Add documents” to upload a product document.
Step 5: In the Product safety information section, click on “Add product safety information” to expand the section. You can choose warning pictograms, select safety statements, and enter any additional safety information for your item.
Step 6: Click “Save changes” to update the item. The modified GPSR information will synchronize with the international listings created by eBaymag. If the “Override GPSR Information on Original Listing” toggle is on, the modified GPSR information will synchronize with both international and original listings.
3.Bulk Customization With Templates:
We offer bulk customization with templates, enabling you to assign a GPSR information template to multiple listings at once. This process involves two steps: first, create a GPSR template, and then bulk assign the template to your selected listings.
Create a GPSR template:
Step 1: Navigate to the “Policies” page then select “GPSR Templates”.
Step 2: Click “Create a GPSR Template” to open the GPSR template creation page.
Step 3: Assign a name to the template.
Step 4: Provide the contact details for the Product Manufacturer or the EU Responsible Person.
Click the “Add product manufacturer” button to input the product manufacturer's details.
Click the “Add EU responsible person” button to input the EU responsible person’s details.
After completing the addition, the information will appear as follows:
Step 5: If the product document applies to all selected items, you can click the “Add documents” button to upload your files.
Step 6: If the Product Safety Information applies to all selected items, click on “Add product safety information”. You can choose warning pictograms, select safety statements, and enter any additional safety information for your selected items.
Step 7: Click “Save” to create the GPSR template.
Bulk assign a GPSR template to selected listings:
Step 1: Filter the Listings. Go to the “Items” page and click on “Filter”. Check the box next to “GPSR Category”, then click “Apply Filters” to filter items under the category subject to GPSR.
Tip! You can combine the GPSR Category filter with other filters to narrow down the listings you want.
Step 2: Select Your Listings. You have the option to select individual items by checking the box next to each one. Alternatively, for mass editing, check the box next to “Select items for mass edit” to choose all items filtered by your criteria.
Step 3: Assign the GPSR Template. After selecting your items, locate the “Assign GPSR” button in the function area. Click on it to navigate to the “Assign GPSR Template” page.
Step 4: Apply the GPSR Template. Choose the template you previously created from the list. Once selected, click “Assign” to apply the template to your chosen items.
Step 5: After clicking the “Assign” button, a confirmation message will pop up. This message will dynamically display details based on the GPSR template you've selected and the number of listings affected. Click “Apply” to proceed.
Step 6: Upon clicking “Apply”, another confirmation message will appear. By selecting the “Proceed” button, eBaymag will apply the chosen GPSR template to the selected items. This action will replace all existing GPSR information for both the original and international listings with the new template. Please note that any previous customizations made to international listings on eBaymag will also be overwritten.
Important Note: If you wish to update the GPSR information in the template, you must bulk assign it to your listings again. Simply updating the template without reassigning it will not affect the listings previously associated with it.
