Shipping Policy Feature Guide

Configuration Mode

Your Configuration Mode tells eBaymag how to generate shipping settings for international sites when no matching service exists in your original eBay policy. Set it once and it applies to all future imports and resyncs.

To set you mode:

Go to Policies → Business policies → Shipping policy settings

AI Config Settings Page

Manual Config Settings Page

AI Config – Price Priority (Default)

Automatically selects the lowest-priced shipping for any destination not covered by your original eBay policy.

Best for: Sellers expanding globally while keeping shipping costs competitive.

AI Config – SLA Priority

Automatically selects the fastest shipping available for any destination not covered by your original eBay policy.

Best for: Sellers focused on rapid fulfillment and improving delivery speed and seller ratings.

Manual Config

Applies services only to destinations already in your policy. All other destinations are left unconfigured, giving you full manual control.

Best for: Sellers who prefer hands-on management of every marketplace’s shipping rules.

💡 Note: If a destination is already covered by your original policy, all three modes will apply the same services automatically.

Shipping Service Mapping

When eBaymag applies a shipping service to an international site, it automatically maps your original service to the closest equivalent using one of two approaches:

Generic Mapping Rules

Applies when your original policy uses non-SpeedPAK services. eBaymag maps by category:

Your Original Shipping Service Category

Mapped to on International Sites

Economy

Standard

Expedited

Expedited equivalent

SpeedPAK Mapping Rules

Applies when your original policy uses SpeedPAK. eBaymag prioritizes SpeedPAK on target sites and selects the most suitable SpeedPAK option based on your mode (lowest-cost or fastest)

Applicable conditions: Automatic mapping works with original eBay shipping policies where the shipping method is Standard shipping (Standard shipping: Small to medium items) and the cost type is Flat (Flat: Same cost for all buyers).

Note: "Standard shipping" refers to the method category, not the service tier of the same name.

Syncing Your Policy

Click the Resync button to fetch your latest shipping policy from eBay. If you’ve updated the original shipping policy in eBay, click the Resync button to sync those changes to other international sites.

Each time you update the shipping configuration mode, you need to click the Resync button to refresh the shipping policy. This ensures that your latest changes are reflected in existing policies.

To Resync a policy:

Open the policy detail page and click "Resync Shipping Profile". The update will take effect immediately in eBaymag. And it will take some time for those changes to fully propagate across your eBay listings.

What Resync updates and what it keeps:

Setting

After Resync

General Policy settings

Refreshed from your latest eBay original policy

Per-site manual adjustments (via Adjust toggle)

Preserved exactly as you set them

Editing Your Shipping Policy

After eBaymag generates shipping settings for your international sites, you can review and refine any details to better match your business needs.

To adjust the General Policy (applies to all sites):

1. Open the policy detail page

2. Edit the Tariffs table entries directly — service, fee, or free shipping toggle

3. Click “Apply changes” to save your changes

To update a specific international site:

1. Open the policy detail page

2. Click the tab for the site you want to adjust

3. Turn on "Adjust shipping policy on international site"

4. Update the service, price, or any other settings for that site

5. Click "Apply changes" to save your changes

💡 Note: Per-site adjustments are unaffected by Resync. Resyncing the General Policy will not override per-site adjustments.

Creating and Assigning Policies

When you need a shipping policy that is fully customized from the ground up, you can create one directly in eBaymag.

Step 1: Create the policy

1. Go to Policies → Business Policies

2. Click "Create a shipping policy"

Step 2: Assign the policy to listings

1. Go to the Items page

2. Select the listing(s) you want to update

3. Click the Shipping dropdown

4. Choose your new policy

💡 Note: Manually created policies are fully self-contained—they have no original eBay source, so the Resync button is disabled. You manage all settings directly within eBaymag, with complete flexibility to adjust the General Policy or individual site tabs at any time.
