How to modify VAT rate on eBaymag

If you sell goods in any EU country or in the UK, you may be required to register for Value Added Tax (VAT) and to collect VAT on your sales. If you are a non-UK or non-EU seller with goods in the UK or EU, or you sell goods into the UK or EU, eBay will account for VAT under certain circumstances.

Refer to this page to learn more about your VAT obligations in the UK and EU.

Modify VAT rate on eBaymag

eBaymag offers an interface which allows you to adjust the corresponding VAT rate before publishing your listings. If you have a business account, the VAT rate column will automatically be displayed.

If your original listing includes VAT, eBaymag will automatically replicate the same value rate applied on that listing for cross-site listings. Additionally, you have the option to manually adjust the VAT rate value on cross-listings through eBaymag.

eBaymag offers two methods for modifying VAT rates on listings:

  1. You can navigate to the item detail page of a specific listing and locate the VAT details under each listing. eBaymag retrieves the VAT information from your original listing and replicates it across the relevant translated cross-listings. You have the flexibility to adjust the VAT rate individually for each site according to your needs. eBaymag will then apply the updated VAT rate value when publishing in cross-listings.

**Note: If the original listing does not include a VAT rate value, eBaymag will automatically set the VAT rate value to 0% by default.

2. eBaymag also supports bulk editing of VAT values. You can navigate to the Sites page and set the VAT for multiple selected listings simultaneously.

Price Correction:

To reduce potential losses, you might consider adjusting the item price on eBaymag by specifying a percentage. Navigate to the “Sites” page and locate the “Price correction” column to input the percentage by which you wish to increase or decrease prices. For example, enter '-10%' to lower the price by 10% or '+5%' to raise it by 5%.
